School's Out!

(I need a little Alice Cooper singalong right about now...)

I think I'm a fraction taller today,
walking with a bit more purpose in my stride,
might even be, if it's possible, just a little bit better looking...

I know I'm smarter.
I know what's happened, and why to whom and when,
I am now aware of how everything works,
and why it doesn't when it doesn't,
or if it can't, or just won't.

I can read faster and smarter,
I can undangle participles and label particles,
classify, justify, simplify, glorify, demystify,
and GoogleWikipediacutandpaste-ify...

I am new and improved, ready and willing,
capable, competent, qualified.
I can laugh louder and last; I can love longer, and last.
I am now able to check more boxes on surveys and
fill in more lines on applications --

and I have the paper to prove it:*

I am a college graduate.

*well, not technically in my hands, they have to mail it to me...

CONGRATULATIONS !!! I hope you enjoy your new career. It can be a bear, but I have many happy memories.

How does the California teacher's exam work?

I am tremendously proud of you, bro. I wish I were there to partake in any celebratory, congratulatory festivities. This accomplishment should rank right up there with weddings, fatherhood, and winning the football championship (oh wait - that was me, you guys lost).

I cannot express how proud I am of you, except to say like a good brother, you have motivated and inspired me to do the same.

Feels wonderful, doesn't it? Congratulations, it's no small feat. I second 2x4's sentiment...I'm proud of you. Not inspired though, I already did that.

First and foremost, Thank You all, I appreciate your special thoughts...

Um, excuse me, Mr PlayOneSeason and get lucky winning a trophy, but we did win the title the next year, all 3 TDs coming through my hole (relax ladies, it's football talk)... unfortunately that was my athletic career high, it was all downhill from there...

And Wonderer, I have passed 3 of the 4 (possibly 5) state exams, and in Sept. will start the credential/student teaching/Master's program...
